Caribbean Gods transforms the space into a world where Taíno chiefs and spirit figures take the place of constellations once named after European gods. Hanging textile sculptures, inspired by carnival traditions, guloyas, gagá, and chichiguas, showcase legendary figures like Caonabo, Anacaona, Yúcahu, Atabey, Guabancex, and Juracán as guiding stars in a vibrant Caribbean cosmos.
Each work serves as a suspended sanctuary, inviting viewers to step inside and form a personal connection with these presences. The installation is imagined as an alternative celestial map, capable of weaving the Caribbean’s history into the fabric of the cosmos.
